AJ Michalka was born in Torrance, California. Her mother Carrie, also a musician, inspired her to take up the profession of musician. Born in Torrance, California, AJ was influenced by her mother, Carrie, who herself was a musician. AJ was a part of her growing up in Torrance as well as Seattle and Milwaukee. They were raised by their sisters and began playing piano and guitar as early as. Once they reached adolescence they were specialists in their fields. AJ was only five years old when she began acting in the church's plays. AJ performed in the school's musical productions. AJ began her career in acting as an 11 year old child in the TV show "Passions'. She is a reporter for NBA basketball games for TNT as a reporter with Turner Sports. Prior to that, she was the lead reporter at SEC games as well as courtside reporting for college basketball.
